Rebecca Caudill lived and wrote in one of Mahomet's neighboring towns, Urbana, for over 50 years. This award was created in her honor. Read as many of the books on the list as you can (at least FIVE to be eligible to vote), and you will be able to vote in February. Thank you to everyone who voted in the 2023 Rebecca Caudill race. The 2023 Rebecca Caudill winner is When Stars Are Scattered by Victoria Jamieson and Omar Mohamed. This is the first Graphic Novel to win the Rebecca Caudill Award! This moving memoir is the story of Omar Mohamed's life in Kenyan refugee camps with his brother, Hassan. There are two copies available for checkout in the MSJH Library.
