MSJH LIBRARY PROCEDURES
Greetings from Library Land!!! Here is a quick rundown of Library Procedures. You will get a detailed version of this exciting story in your ELA classes. If you ever have any questions about procedures, don't hesitate to email me ([email protected]).
How to Put a Book on Hold:
- ELA Classes will visit the library once every three weeks.
- Students can check out three books at a time for three weeks at time.
- Students may renew books as long as no one else has them on hold.
- Students may return books early before your class returns. You may return them to the library return box at any point during the school day.
- Students may check out books from the library:
- during your ELA class time.
- before school from 8:20-8:30 AM.
- after school until 3:50 PM.
- with a pass on Mondays or Fridays.
- Students may check books out in person, or they can browse the Destiny Catalog online and put books on hold. Once a book is ready for pick up, students will get a note on their locker.
How to Put a Book on Hold:
- Click HERE for the Destiny Discover Catalog.
- Click on Log In, which is in the upper right hand corner of the Catalog.
- Log in with your Google Account.
- Start searching for books! When you click on a title, there will be a blue box that says HOLD. Click on this, and your hold will come to the library. Mrs. Eisenmenger or I will pull the book and put a locker note on your locker to come pick up the book(s) at your convenience.
LOANER CHROMEBOOKS IN THE LIBRARY
If a student forgets their Chromebook at home, they can get a loaner Chromebook from the library IF one is available. We ask that students who forget their Chromebook come to the library FIRST THING IN THE MORNING to get a loaner. They will then return the loaner Chromebook during BPH.
If a student damages their Chromebook, they will bring their damaged Chromebook to the library FIRST THING IN THE MORNING. Mrs. Eisenmenger or I will fill out a detailed report on the damage and then give the student a loaner until their Chromebook is repaired. When their Chromebook is ready for pick up, they will get a pass from their teacher to come pick it up in the library.
